“Epidemiological situation in Ukraine: in which regions are the most sick with flu, ARVI and COVID-19. In one week, 115 thousand people fell ill with ARVI and COVID-19 in Ukraine, half of them are children. Only one case of COVID-19 has been recorded in Brovary community, but there is an increase in ARVI among children.”, — write on: unn.ua
According to the Ministry of Health, from November 4 to 10, 815 people fell ill with COVID-19, 236 of them were hospitalized in medical institutions. 33 children needed hospital treatment. All patients received the necessary medical care. The Ministry of Health clarified that currently the most cases are registered in Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
Currently, the epidemic threshold of morbidity has not been exceeded in Ukraine, the ministry noted. In general, from November 4 to 10, 115,137 people fell ill with SARS, influenza and COVID-19 in the country, half of whom – 66,274 – were children. Doctors also reported one fatal case due to complications of COVID-19.
“The incidence of COVID-19, after a summer wave of outbreaks caused by the FLiRT subvariant, stabilized in the fall. Compared to September, when 35,230 people fell ill with COVID-19, 8,209 cases were registered in October. However, COVID-19 remains extremely dangerous for people who did not receive any vaccination, risk groups and patients with concomitant diseases who missed revaccination. Vaccination is free and available in medical facilities of the country in every region,” said Deputy Minister, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin.
In general, according to the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the epidemic season in October, 702,888 people have contracted ARVI, influenza and COVID-19. 11,076 patients were diagnosed with COVID-19, the coronavirus infection claimed 38 lives.
At the same time, the situation with the incidence of influenza and SARS is stable in Kyiv region, but hospitalizations have increased.
UNN asked what the current epidemiological situation is in one of the communities of the region. It is about the largest satellite city of the capital Brovary.
According to Ihor Kravtsov, the director of the Brovary city center of primary medical and sanitary care, no cases of influenza have been recorded in the community, and the incidence of SARS remains at the usual level.
“There is no epidemic yet, our department of laboratory research does not report cases of influenza at the moment, SARS has remained at the same level throughout the year,” he said.
He added that an increased incidence of acute respiratory viral infections is currently being recorded among the children’s population, but the number of cases does not yet exceed the norm.
“For example, last week there were 606 cases (of SARS – ed.), of which 404 are children, and 202 are adults. Well, of course, pneumonia and pneumonia are registered among children and adults,” noted Ihor Kravtsov .
In addition, according to his data, one case of COVID-19 was recorded in the Brovary territorial community last week.
“Everything is enough for treatment. Vaccination against COVID-19 is taking place, we urge the population to get vaccinated against the flu,” he said, reminding that the flu vaccine can be purchased at pharmacies.
We will remind
Earlier UNN told that in the Brovary community, the local government introduced the program “Caring for everyone” for 2024-2026, which is aimed at ensuring social protection and medical support for the most vulnerable sections of the population.
As part of the program, regular diagnostics are carried out for the early detection of oncological diseases. In particular, the following examinations are available to community residents:
- cytological screening for cervical cancer (liquid Pap test) and HPV testing for women over 21 years of age;
- breast and ovarian cancer screening for women over 30 years old;
- thyroid cancer screening as directed by a doctor;
- urological screening for prostate cancer diagnosis for men over 35 years old.
Citizens of Ukraine who are registered and live in the territory of the Brovary community can undergo these examinations free of charge once a year.
In addition, there are several important medical programs in the community aimed at supporting the health of the community, in particular, privileged categories of the population. Ihor Kravtsov, director of the Brovary city center of primary health care, in an exclusive comment UNN said that one of the key programs is providing privileged categories of the population, in particular internally displaced persons (IDPs), with free medicines and medical supplies.
In addition, the local government of Brovary directs significant funds to support oncology patients living in the community. The hospital provides them with free chemotherapy drugs, which are expensive because all the components are foreign-made.
Mayor of Brovary Ihor Sapozhko in an exclusive comment UNN emphasized that such programs are important for ensuring the health and well-being of community residents. He added that the city government will continue to support these initiatives, despite the limited budget.
“We understand how important these programs are for our citizens, especially for those who need continuous medical support. Free drug programs, support for cancer patients and cancer prevention are vital initiatives, and we are doing everything possible to preserve them even in difficult conditions. Taking care of the health of the residents of our community remains our priority,” said Sapozhko.
