The miners were reportedly trapped at a depth of more than 1,300 meters due to an accident at the mine’s substation. The accident was eliminated by the efforts of mine rescuers, specialists of the enterprise and other units of the State Emergency Service.
“The rescue of the miners required the use of a complex technology of creating an artificial load of the mine cage, which made it possible to safely raise people to the surface,” the message says.
The service added that the rescue operation was complete and all 135 people “returned home safe and sound”.
In July 2024, a Russian attack led to the blackout of a mine in the Donetsk region.
