They assured that the training does not pose a threat to anyone.

“We stand in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland. Building on the process launched last week, we are ready for dialogue based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity that we strongly support,” the statement said.

Literally: “Threatened tariffs undermine transatlantic relations and risk a dangerous downward spiral. We will continue to be united and coordinated in our response. We are committed to protecting our sovereignty.”

What preceded: On January 17, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of tariffs against a number of countries that do not agree with his claims to Greenland.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, defended the position of European countries in support of Denmark and Greenland and warned about the negative consequences of Donald Trump’s decisions.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the tariffs announced by Trump “in revenge” for the protection of Denmark a wrong approach, and French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that Europe will not be intimidated.
