Due to Russian assaults on Donetsk region, it became impossible to hold individual positions – OSUV “Khortytsia”

In the Eastern direction, during the past day, on December 17, Russian assault units carried out a number of attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops – because of this, “it became impossible to hold some of them”, says the press service of the Khortytsia Armed Forces.

The military says that “the enemy tried to break through the defenses near Shevchenko, south of Storozhevo, southeast of Uspenivka, east of Trudovoy and on the outskirts of Dalny.”

It is noted that “enemy assaults took place in the area of ​​the southeastern outskirts and in the built-up area of ​​the southern part of Kurakhovo”. The “Khortytsia” SDF noted that “all enemy attacks were repulsed, the occupiers suffered losses and withdrew.”

However, as the military says, “as a result of intense fire damage, some fortifications of the Ukrainian forces suffered significant destruction, which made it impossible to maintain them in certain areas of the front.”

In addition, according to the data of the Khortytsya Security Service, “the enemy continued its assault in the area of ​​Novy Komar, southeast of Pishchany and in the urban development of Chasovoy Yar. With the support of armored vehicles, the occupiers attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders on the southeastern outskirts of Konstantinopolskyi.”

“Currently, the fighting continues, and the enemy’s tactical position remains unchanged. At the same time, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine are taking measures to improve their tactical position on the front line,” the Khortytsya State Security Service emphasized.
