Duda: In Poland, the Sumits of EU-Ukraine and the EU-SSC were abolished

Duda said this during a meeting of the Polish NSDC.

According to the Presidential Office, the meeting of the Council was held in connection with a peaceful process aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.

“We support Ukraine in the political, military and humanitarian spheres. Our position remains unchanged: this war should end with a fair peace – one that guarantees that Russia will no longer attack anyone. It also means the restoration of the rule of international law, ”Duda said.

He also stressed that Poland remains “An extremely important US ally, ”and the reduction of US military presence in the country is not planned.

“Poland should be active in security for all of Europe. Poland’s presidency in the European Council should be an opportunity to raise issues related to EU security, as well as strengthening transatlantic ties, ”Duda said.

Earlier, Duda appealed to the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk with a proposal to hold the EU-Ukraine Sumit and EU-SSE during the Polish presidency in the EU Council in the first half of 2025.

According to him, Warsaw should focus on strengthening the European Union relations with the United States, maintaining Ukraine’s European integration and post -war reconstruction.

On February 22, negotiations took place between Duda and Donald Trump. In an interview with TV Republika, the Polish leader noted that Trump seeks to put an end to the bloodshed in Ukraine.
