Emergency shutdowns have been introduced in the capital, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions, reports DTEK.
The order was issued due to a difficult situation in the power system.
Earlier, Ukrenergo noted that on December 23, electricity consumption showed an upward trend.
“This is explained by the traditional increase in consumption at the beginning of the working week, cloudy weather and a decrease in air temperature in most regions,” the report said.
Energy experts remind that the Ukrainian energy system continues to recover after twelve massive attacks by the Russian Federation since the beginning of this year, and it still has a significant capacity deficit.
According to the Ministry of Energy, since October 2022, Russia has carried out more than a thousand strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, this year alone 9 GW of generating capacity was lost due to strikes.
