On the night of January 1, at least two Russian drones returned to the territory of Belarus – one each from the Chernihiv and Rivne regions.
On January 3, the drone flew over the village of Lyubech in the Chernihiv region in the direction of Belarus.
On January 5, when Russian troops attacked the energy infrastructure of Slavutych (an exclave of Kyiv region on the territory of Chernihiv region), one neutralized drone also flew towards Belarus.
On the night of January 13 and on the same day, at least two drones flew from Chernihiv region to Belarus, one of them in the direction of Komarin, Gomel region.
In January, the Russian military used more than 100 (and on some days several hundred) drones against Ukraine every day and often supplemented their strikes with missiles.
According to the operational command of the Air Force of Ukraine and Ukrainian monitoring channels that monitor the movement of drones, in the first two weeks of 2026, at least six Russian drones flew into the territory of Belarus after being neutralized by Ukrainian means of electronic warfare.
Last year, the initiative of former security forces BelPol reported that since 2025, 42 cases of UAVs and their parts falling in the Brest region have been recorded. Three of them were equipped with explosives: one drone detonated during the fall, two were neutralized by sappers.
