Sevastopol, Crimea, experienced a night of air raid alerts as Russian authorities reported a drone attack on the city. Mikhail Razvozhayev, the head of Sevastopol appointed by Russia, stated via his Telegram channel that air defense systems had intercepted 26 drones during the incident.
Razvozhayev confirmed that a 30-year-old man lost his life during the attack, reportedly struck by debris from a downed drone while on a street near Kamyshovoye Highway. Emergency medical services arrived promptly but were unable to save him after attempts at resuscitation.
In addition to the fatality, Razvozhayev noted that windows were shattered in several high-rise buildings, and private homes and vehicles sustained damage due to falling debris.
Reports of explosions in the Sevastopol area were also shared by the Telegram channel ‘Crimean Wind.’ Subscribers indicated that Russian air defense systems were actively engaged near the Belbek and Kacha airfields. The outcomes of these engagements remain unclear, and Ukrainian military officials have not commented on the situation.
Since 2022, the Crimean Peninsula has faced near-daily drone and missile attacks. In most cases, the Russian Ministry of Defense or local authorities do not confirm strikes on military targets, even when such information can be verified.
