Dnipro city hall and 3 regions searched: police say they are investigating theft

On January 20, the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Lviv regions are being searched for embezzlement of state funds in the field of removal and disposal of household waste, the National Police reported. Investigative actions are ongoing, in particular, at the Dnipro City Hall.

Verbatim from the message: “As part of the criminal proceedings, which are being investigated for the embezzlement of budget funds during the collection, removal and disposal of solid household waste, with the approval of the prosecutor’s office and in accordance with the court order, a number of searches are being conducted in the territory of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Lviv regions.”

Details: Investigative actions take place at the landfill of solid household waste, in office premises, at the addresses of registration and residence of the participants in the criminal proceedings, as well as in the vehicles used by them.

“For the purpose of seizing documents, one of the searches is being conducted in the KP in the premises of the Dnipro City Council,” the police said.

Mayor of Dnipro Borys Filatov also informed about the searches in the city hall.

Direct speech of the mayor: “In the morning, regular “law enforcement officers” stopped at the city hall with a search. Allegedly, there is something wrongly buried in the city landfill. Now, among the calls from utility companies, gas and heating companies, I still need to listen to lawyers and ecologists.”

Details: Filatov emphasized that the searches are taking place after a nighttime missile and drone attack by the Russian Federation on the city, as a result of which a large boiler house was damaged and hundreds of houses were left without heating.

“Dear “law enforcement officers”, I have only one question. Could you come with the search not this morning, but at least tomorrow?”, the mayor emphasized. He also criticized the leadership of the state, accusing individual law enforcement agencies of destructive behavior.

“Finish the nonsense about the ‘unity of the nation, indomitability and reformation of power’. Until you calm down your maddened dogs, who are already 100 percent behaving like a fifth column. Or appoint your prosecutors with cops everywhere and let them rule and bear full responsibility,” Filatov was indignant.
