Air quality has temporarily deteriorated in Kyiv, the level of pollution is estimated to be average. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration on Telegram on Tuesday, December 24.
“The probable cause of the increase in the level of pollution is meteorological conditions, in particular, low wind speed,” the report says.
The KMDA explained that at relative humidity of 95% and above, some air quality sensors can perceive fog as dust. This can lead to overestimated contamination rates due to incorrect data interpretation.
“The level of pollution is average and does not pose a threat to people’s well-being and health,” the administration added.
