Details: It is reported that at the meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation on December 10, the senators congratulated all the Golden Star winners from their ranks. As it turned out, one of the heroes of Russia includes Derkach, who is now a senator from the Astrakhan region.

Previously, it was not reported that he was awarded the highest state award of the Russian Federation.
On November 10, in Ukraine NABU and SAP revealed a multi-level criminal scheme of embezzlement of funds of the state concern “Energoatom”. The operation was named “Midas”. According to its results, a corruption scheme was exposed, which penetrated the state energy industry and reached the highest offices of the government.
Among those involved in the scheme are Derkach’s assistant Ihor Myronyuk, as well as President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s partner in “Kvartal-95” Timur Mindych.
Mironiuk left for Russia after the start of the Great War, where he, like Derkach, now works as a senator.
A money laundering office is also involved in the case, and it is located in a building owned by Derkach’s family.
According to Kommersant, 58-year-old Andrii Derkach is the son of the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (1998–2001) Leonid Derkach. In 1993, he graduated from the FSB Academy. In 2007, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada from the Party of Regions, and since 2014 he has been a non-factional deputy. At different times, he managed the national company “Energoatom” and the state concern “Ukratomprom”.
Derkach became widely known in May 2020, when he published a series of recordings of phone conversations, dated 2015-2016, between, as he claimed, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and US Vice President Joe Biden.
In 2022, the Security Service of Ukraine stated that Derkach had been recruited by Russian intelligence.
In 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stripped Derkach of Ukrainian citizenship, after which the Verkhovna Rada terminated his powers.
Derkach is currently a senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and a member of the Defense and Security Committee.
