Deputy Chairman of Ternopil OVA was sentenced to 8 years for a bribe of UAH 1.8 million

On March 6, 2025, the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court issued an indictment to the deputy chairman of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Igor Gaiduk, who was detained for attempting to receive UAH 1.8 million of bribery and imposed a punishment in the form of 8 years and 2 months of imprisonment.

The investigation found that in June 2023 the deputy chairman of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, together with another deputy, asked the entrepreneur UAH 1.8 million for payment of debt of Ternopil OVA to the company for work, executed and adopted in 2022, as well as for assistance in the conclusion of new and financing.

With regard to another deputy, the materials regarding him are allocated to separate proceedings, but the consideration was suspended in connection with his mobilization.

Prehistory:

  • On June 26, NABU and SAP detained the chairman of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mikhail Golovka to receive a bribe. It was also reported that two deputies of the Ternopil VCA – Igor Demyanchuk and Igor Gaiduk were detained.
  • On June 28, the Golovka was arrested for 60 days with the possibility of bail of 805 thousand UAH. WACS was also arrested for 2 months with the possibility of bail of 805 thousand hryvnias and First Deputy Chief of Ternopil Ova Igor Demyanchuk.
  • On June 29, the Golovka was released from the detention center after the introduction of 800 thousand hryvnias for him.
  • On July 3, Golovko returned to work.
