Details: The investigation established that in March 2022, the official illegally seized 8 cars from two companies engaged in freight transportation. He took the transport without proper documents, under the guise of the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Subsequently, on his instructions, acts of acceptance and transfer were drawn up retroactively, allegedly for the transfer of cars to military units. At the same time, in fact, this transport did not arrive at the subdivisions, and the person involved disposed of the seized property at his own discretion.
As a result of the specified illegal actions, losses in the amount of more than 4 million hryvnias were caused to enterprises.
The DBR notes that three vehicles, which were handed over to meet the needs of the Armed Forces, have now been returned to entrepreneurs.
The actions of the former official were qualified under part 5 of Art. 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — abuse of power under martial law. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years.
Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure is being resolved.
