“On May 12, from 16:00, the International Automobile checkpoint“ Dorogosk-Yagodin ”was blocked for a passage of the protest action of Polish carriers. They limited the movement of trucks to one hour in the direction of departure and entry into Ukraine. Therefore, in 12 hours of night shift at the customs post “Yagodin” 205 weights were issued for entry and only eight – on departure from Ukraine, ”the message reads.
The customs service said that an electronic queue, which had 1391 vehicles yesterday, decreased almost twice and as of the morning of May 13 was 789 empty or loaded cars.
Carriers are no longer getting into Ukraine for entry into Ukraine, choosing other traffic routes, customs say.
On the eve of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Ukraine warned that the movement of trucks through the checkpoint “Yagodin-Dorogusk” on the border with Poland could be complicated through a protest action on the Polish side. The SPSU specified that buses and humanitarian trucks will be passed freely.
According to preliminary data, the actions of Polish carriers can last for four months.
Last year, there was a strike of farmers in Poland, declared by the Solidarity Trade Union. They blocked all border crossing points with Ukraine, as well as roads and highways in separate voivodes. In addition to the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine, the Polish protesters opposed the European agricultural policy, in particular, against the implementation of the Green Lada – a number of environmental and climatic requirements.
