According to the case file, the network was killed by an officer of the Russian special service Igor Egorov, who began to form it in 2009. Its first agent was Major General of the SBU Valery Shaytanov, detained in 2020 for the preparation of terrorist attacks and cooperation with the FSB.
Subsequently the SBU exposed another agent – Former Deputy Head of Dmitry Ivantsov Yanukovych. In February 2014, he helped the fugitive president to move to Russia, and he remained in the Crimea and joined the occupation forces. Ivantsov is currently hiding on a temporarily occupied peninsula and plays the role of a resident of the FSB, coordinating the subversive activity of other Russian agents in Ukraine.
In 2024, the SBU exposed another participant in this network – National Guard serviceman. According to the investigation, he transmitted information about Ukrainian activists, high -ranking officials, prisoners of war, as well as data on the consequences of Russian shelling for several years.
As for Gusarov, it was established that it was recruited in 2012 and after 2014 continued to transmit data to Ivantsov. The correspondence of agents was restored on the third day after the so -called “referendum” in Crimea.
The investigation has established more than 60 episodes of “Cross” of restricted data, including the personal data of Ukrainian security forces and citizens, whom the Russian special services planned to recruit. To do this, he used closed law enforcement databases.
After documenting the crimes, the NABU employee was detained. He removed the phone and computer equipment that he used to contact the curators. He was suspected of state treason and unauthorized information with information. The court chose a pre -trial detention measure.
The SBU emphasized that the case concerns a particular employee and does not affect NABU’s activities as an institution. The pre -trial investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Attorney General’s office.
Prehistory:
- On July 21, it became known that NABU staff without court order took place in investigative actions conducted by the SBU staff and the Prosecutor General’s Office. Special forces and law enforcement officers conducted approximately 80 searches in 19 employees of the bureau in different regions of Ukraine.
- Before this, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General have declared the exposing of agent penetration of the Russian special services into the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
