The Center for Combating Misinformation under the National Security and Defense Council states that Russian propaganda continues misinformation campaign about allegedly a military threat to Ukraine by Hungary.

In particular, according to the CPD, the Russian Pravda network is spreading the report that Hungary is preparing to attack Ukraine to return Transcarpathia.

The Center for Combating Misinformation emphasizes that these messages are not true, and the spread of such fakes of the Russian Federation is trying to create an additional factor in destabilization of Ukrainian society.

“Such custom is an instrument of information warfare aimed at undermining safety and rest in the border regions of Ukraine. Putting on the “Hungarian threat” RU-propaganda seeks to sow panic among Ukrainians and distract from the true threat-armed aggression of the Russian Federation, “-the message reads.

Earlier, the CPD denied misinformation about the allegedly beating Ukrainian drones with the Hungarian military near the border and a statement of alleging Hungarian armored vehicles to the border with Ukraine.

Researchers say that in recent years Russia has modernized its approaches to information war and instead of obvious propaganda, which dominated in the first years of aggression against Ukraine, the Kremlin has increasingly used tools masked by legitimate sources of information or under “alternative” content. According to the researchers, one of the tools was the creation of a wide network of fake media, in particular under the brand “Pravda”, and the use of Tiktok as a platform for spreading misinformation among young people.
