According to CNN, on January 23, federal judge John Cowenour declared that President Donald Trump’s executive order revoking birthright citizenship is “clearly unconstitutional” and issued a temporary restraining order to block it.
So a federal judge granted a request by Washington Attorney General Nick Brown and three others, led by the Democratic Party, for an emergency order for a 14-day ban on Trump’s executive order to limit birthright US citizenship.
I have been a judge for over four decades and cannot recall a single case in which the issue at hand was as clear as in this one.
“Where were the lawyers” when the decision to sign the decree was made, the judge asked.
States led by the Democratic Party are said to be seeking a temporary block because Trump’s executive order is a flagrant violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees citizenship to all children born within the jurisdiction of the United States.
We will remind
The attorneys general of 22 states have sued to block President Donald Trump’s move to end a century-old immigration practice known as birthright citizenship.
