Cook, editor, coach. Rakuten Viber launches AI assistants right in the app

Five new specialized chats are collected in a separate folder in the chat list. Each AI assistant is dedicated to a specific task:

• The AI ​​reference book is a universal assistant for finding information, explaining complex topics and doing quick research.

  Advertising

• The AI ​​companion is an interlocutor for advice, finding ideas and solving everyday dilemmas.

• AI-chef is a culinary assistant that will help with menus and recipes.

• AI-coach is an assistant for maintaining emotional state and self-reflection.

• AI-editor is an assistant that will help to paraphrase and improve the text of the message.

The new AI assistants are presented as separate chats in the Viber chat list.

User requests are sent to OpenAI for processing, but they are not used to train AI models.

AI assistants are available on iOS, Android and in the desktop version of Viber. A special folder with assistants has already appeared in mobile applications. All conversations started on the smartphone are synchronized with the computer. This ensures seamless operation on any device. The function is already available to all Viber users in Ukraine with application version 26.6 and higher.

Assistants are part of Rakuten Viber’s long-term investment in artificial intelligence-based features that aim to simplify communication and save users time. The company plans to implement new capabilities so that AI can even more help in daily communication in the application. It is also part of Rakuten Group’s Triple 20 initiative, which aims to improve marketing, operational and customer service efficiency by 20% through AI.
