According to him, before implementing measures to increase energy efficiency, communities need to focus on energy saving – reducing the amount of electricity consumption. This will reduce the costs of maintaining autonomous energy systems that provide communities during power outages.
Energy autonomy is a basic need for a community to have access to energy under all conditions. And the increase in energy efficiency should begin after the frugal use of available resources has been ensured. And although it may sound strange, energy efficiency often requires increased energy consumption to achieve optimal results
In order to implement energy independence projects, it is important for communities to clearly define their needs, develop project documentation and attract financing. Today, a number of state and international support programs are operating in Ukraine, offering grants, loans or technical assistance, Ryabtsev reminds.
“There are many programs, starting from state lending at 5-9% per annum and ending with the support of international organizations, such as USAID or various German foundations.
European taxpayers are ready to help Ukrainian communities ensure their own energy autonomy,” he emphasized.
The expert added that active and capable communities are already demonstrating effective solutions in this area, which can serve as an example for others. This not only guarantees energy security, but also lays the foundation for further sustainable development and improvement of citizens’ quality of life.
We will remind
The utility company “Brovaryteplovodoenergia” received a new generator with a capacity of 720 kW to ensure the operation of one of the key objects of the city’s critical infrastructure
Let’s add
Previously, KP “Brovaryteplovodoenergia” received a cogeneration plant with a capacity of 260 kW from USAID. The equipment, which will be installed at one of the company’s facilities, will be a step towards increasing the community’s energy independence.
