NV Food has gathered for you a selection of establishments worth visiting when you want to warm up with a blanket on the terrace, drink wine in a cozy interior and taste dishes made from seasonal autumn products.

The search for an autumn mood in Kyiv does not end only with yellow chestnuts along the streets. We offer you to taste it with new dishes from chefs and drinks from bartenders of capital establishments. Here are six establishments worth checking out this fall.

1. Crimson

A bar on Andriyivskyi Uzvoza, which has the perfect atmosphere for early autumn. With a warming cocktail, wine or tea, you can watch the leaves fall on the veranda, listen to live music and enjoy the warmth. If it’s cold, wrap yourself in a blanket and try something new for dinner: a salad with berries and brie cheese, hummus with roasted peppers or a chocolate brownie. For drinks, choose the Fern Flower charity cocktail, Willy Wonka with the taste of chocolate and berry candies, or the classic Brooklyn.

2. Mirali

Restaurant of modern author’s Ukrainian cuisine in Podil. Seasonal novelties and interesting flavors of local products are constantly surprising here. You can immerse yourself in autumn here only by the very sight of the fire on which food is prepared. The atmosphere of the forest prevails here, which is also present in the dishes. For a fall dinner, try an Azerbaijani omelet, pancakes with melted cheese, or soon-to-be-off-the-menu specials like roasted pumpkin with labneh and caramelized walnuts and aged beef carpaccio with mushroom ketchup. Mirali also has a new autumn salad based on goat mousse with seasonal vegetables and egg yolk. At the restaurant, you can order the five-course Mirali Chef’s Choice tasting set, which is updated every Friday.

Choose from assorted tapenades, Vitello Tonnato or escargot in the Burgundian style. For dessert, canele in a cozy environment of dark bottles, wood and a sparkling piano.

4. Harms city cafe

A city cafe and bookstore in the center of Kyiv in a cozy courtyard at the Golden Gate. It’s worth stopping by for the sweet cherry pie with ice cream and salted caramel, which has recently been added to the menu, try the derun with salmon gravlax or the huge Pho Bo if you’ve already managed to freeze. Sit on the patio under the lanterns with a book, a glass of red wine or a conversation with friends to experience autumn. There are many drinks here, from Matcha-Mango to Club Mate Pomegranate and seasonal latte, which complement the picture no less picturesquely. Pair with the establishment’s legendary cheesecakes with sabayon sauce.

A bakery by the owners of the Honey Cafe chain, with an emphasis on handmade products, family histories and a daily bread and wine format. The establishment is spacious, there are warm colors of furniture and pastries that warm the eyes and the soul. Beautiful desserts are constantly updated, and especially in season. Get a taste of autumn in the newly announced Dogwood Croissant, which is baked in berry syrup with mascarpone cream. Lovers of sweets will be in paradise here, try also the new dessert Four Milks in the form of a jug made of chocolate with ganache and delicate biscuit. For treats, a bottle of wine or cocktails, such as Green Grove, if you miss spring or summer.

6. Shalom, Kyiv

This is an Israeli urban cafe in the capital from Alex Cooper, where you should come for a driving and slightly hipster autumn. Here you can celebrate the change of seasons with delicious seasonal cocktails such as CocoLime Twist, Creamy Wild Velvet and Pistachio Punch. The evening can also be spent with shrimp cakes with coconut rice, chicken with green shakshuka and salmon with vegetables. The restaurant invites you to come with friends and share food with them by ordering a meze set or other snacks. Music evenings are also regularly organized here.
