Details: “Yeah, I’ll talk to him,” Biden said Sunday as he headed to the White House from Dover Air Force Base.

He added that “we really have to avoid” an all-out war in the Middle East, saying: “We have already taken precautions for our embassies and staff who want to leave, but we have not yet resolved that issue. But we are working hard with the French and many others”.

Before Nasrallah’s assassination, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a U.S.-French-brokered cease-fire proposal that would have called for a 21-day pause in fighting on the Israeli-Lebanese border, angering U.S. officials.

Israel told the US it was launching its main operation in Beirut only after it had already begun – again, to the dismay of some US officials.
