Today, the couple won – the President was removed from power, he is under arrest. On the second attempt of the incumbent President, they forcibly led to questioning what happened for the first time in the history of the state. It is likely that it will be finally, not temporarily, removed from the authorities under the impeachment procedure. In addition, the prosecutor’s office has already filed the prosecution of the organization of the rebellion Jun Jol.

A bad and chaotic attempt to stay in office, hiding in the status of president, only worsened the situation of Jun July Jol, as new facts were added to the accusation. In particular, obstruction of the work of parliament, which tried to prevent him from declaring martial law.

The post of president in Korea is a dangerous profession. Of all 13 presidents – one fled from the country and died in exile, one killed, another committed to himself, under investigation. Four former were convicted, they received prison terms (two for corruption, two for usurpation of power).

As a rule, those politicians that Korean society is driving under the back, are prison for a long time. As an example, the daughter of a 1979 daughter of the 11th President of Korea Pak, Pak, Kin Kin Hy, was convicted of 24 years after impeachment, from which she stayed for 4 years and came out for amnesty-the President-Democrat pardoned her at the end of her cadence.

At the same time, all presidents suffer for one five -year term of power, and they are forbidden twice to be elected under the 1987 Constitution. It is a kind of legislative insurance against usurpation of power and a fuse against unnecessary thoughts. In other words, the second chance of re -election is not given to anyone that the president is not distracted from his main job – to work and did not think about the upcoming elections.

Today, when the whole world is watching the Korean Political Card House, which is collapsing when a decisive but inept handed hand pulled the wrong card, it is very interesting for me as a diplomat to analyze the reason why it happened.

The main one is the presidential rating. I simplify, the risk of dictatorship can afford the leader at the height of his support to the population, if he is at all the right to afford it.

Yun Jol Jol supported no minor, but the predominant minority. At the time he announced his martial law, his rating fell up to 16%, which was catastrophically small for South Korea. This Ukraine is accustomed to living with leaders, whose level of support, to put it mildly, is insignificant, and for Koreans such indicators are already unacceptable political crisis.

If your rating varies from 30 to 40%, you are starting to eat either the opposition or your own party. If the support level is less than 30%, the probability of 90% of the Constitutional Court will confirm impeachment.

The reason for the collapse of the rating is political moods in society. Most Koreans are mostly leaning to the Democrats today, and Yun Jok has become president with a completely slight advantage of votes. His career initially laid a very problematic presidency, and he was unable to change this situation primarily because of his conservative academic school and lack of political skills of reincarnation.

Being a prosecutor, that is, a security officer in a specialty, he never studied the politician, remaining a law enforcement officer in the presidential chair. It would seem that there is nothing wrong with being a strong guarantor. But he was trying to manage the “hard hand”, decomposing a standard pseudo -Dictatorial set of cards: persecution of political opponents, rejection of criticism from the opposition, which, for a minute, is the majority! The President asked for problems, and they began.

Over time, when the rating was weakening, Yun Joli began to substitute his own party, his opposition was healed, he “died” and made mistakes.

For Korea, the issue of restarting power is indifferent to who wins – Democrats or Conservatives. This is likely to become a positive, but for Ukraine, these events are rather a minus, since in the case of victory Democrats are much more economically pragmatic to behave in foreign policy, looking back to China and Russia, and most likely try to restore “intercostal dialogue”. The fact is that the deep principle of the policy of South Korean Democrats lies in the rule of “like loop”, how to slip between droplets, and in practice – how to continue friends with Americans, in parallel actively cooperating with China, trading with the Russians, moderately helping Ukraine and establishing relations with Ukraine. DPRK.

Conservatives stand for more traditional things. Conditionally, “if the Americans have protected us, we are with them, and if they are fighting with the Chinese, then China is not an enemy, but not a friend.” This conservative approach has also caused the collapse of their policy. In fact, this controversy in society has so it looks like. The President states, conditionally, “China is the enemy of South Korea.” They contradict and say that China is our great brother, a neighbor, we have a difficult story with them and we need to build relationships. Therefore, in his opinion, the Democrats, “Processing, Promocratic” regarding North Korea. In response, he tried to call them agents, that’s where it ended.

South Korean society did not appreciate this approach. After all, the horror caused by the Korean war, it does not want to plunge into that past, and if you unite with the DPRK, it is not exactly with the help of power. Therefore, a request for a democrat similar to the former President of the Republic of Korea Kim Jun, who in 2000 received a Nobel Prize for an attempt to establish a long -term peace between north and south, formed in society.

Then, having overcome the confrontation within society, he went to Pyongyang, met with the father of the present leader of North Korea Kim Jong Iro, they hugged and held the first forum. His “Sunlight Policy” has made the history of world diplomacy. A joint industrial park of Kassson (worked until 2016) was created on the territory of the DPRK at the expense of South Korean investments. Subsequently, the process of economic rapprochement, families and even tourist trips began – the South Koreans were allowed to go to diamond mountains in North Korea. But this is the past.

At this stage, there is a major lesson that can be obtained from this historical example of a degree of ambitions applied to the letter of the law. Any statesman, and especially the president, finding himself in the crossroads of political tactical decisions, personal ambitions and state interest It is necessary to follow the letter of the law, otherwise the fate of Korean presidents stumbles on everyone. If sometimes it seems that it could get out of your hands, it is often only a temporary phenomenon.
