The headquarters reported the next wave of calls to relatives of Ukrainian prisoners of war – unknown persons who are represented by “representatives of the Russian bodies responsible for exchange”, try to put pressure and manipulate the trust of close Ukrainian defenders.
According to Kyiv, unknown people are encouraged to send electronic appeals to state and international structures – in particular the ICRC, the UN, the White House – to send evidence (photos/screenshots of letters) to private messages, as well as to spread these “instructions” in the chats of families missing.
What is said in these “appeals” is not specified in the headquarters.
In such cases, the coordination headquarters not to trust such telephone subscribers, but immediately contact law enforcement and headquarters.
The Russian side did not respond to this message.
This happens against the backdrop of exchange between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, which began yesterday and will last, more than one day. On June 9, the first group of dismissed servicemen under 25 years returned to Ukraine. Among the released today are representatives of the Navy, Land Forces, TRO, Air Forces, Air Force forces, DPSU, National Guard and the State Special Transport Service.
Among the released from Russian captivity are Mariupol’s defenders who have spent more than three years in captivity.
The number of operations released for reasons was not reported in the headquarters.
On June 2, the delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation agreed in Istanbul on new exchanges of prisoners. According to the Minister of Defense of Rustem Umerov, there is an agreement to focus on specific categories, not on figures: about the exchange of “all” of severely wounded and seriously ill prisoners of war, the second category is young soldiers who from 18 to 25 years. Also, there was an agreement on the return of 6000 bodies.
