Callas warned that Putin cannot be trusted: Ukraine needs reliable security guarantees

The European Union Cala Callas’s main diploma, following the results of the online meeting of the EU leaders on Tuesday, stressed that only reliable guarantees of Ukraine’s security will ensure Russia’s restraint from a potential attack in the future.

Direct language: “Putin cannot be trusted that he or she adheres to any promises or obligations. Therefore, security guarantees must be strong enough and reliable to keep Russia from regrouping and renewing the attack.”

Callas promised that the EU will be attached to security guarantees for Ukraine, “in particular by preparing the Ukrainian military and strengthening the armed forces and the defense industry.”

“The EU will also continue to take measures against Russia’s military economy. The next package of sanctions against Moscow should be ready by next month,” she added.
