British intelligence: The war against Ukraine has reduced access to Russia’s population to medical services

Aggression against Ukraine has increased the burden on the Russian health care system – this is stated in the construction of UK intelligence, which is quoted by the Ministry of Defense of the country on March 14.

According to intelligence, at least 160 state hospitals in Russia were closed during 2024, including 18 maternity hospitals and 10 children’s hospitals:

“Russian civilians in small cities and villages often have abbreviated medical services or do not have them at all because of these closure, including limited services at the pre -hospital stage.”

According to the agencies, the priority of the war in Ukraine has led to a lack of funding for health care in Russia, including a shortage of medical staff, examination and equipment.

At the same time, British intelligence points to the burden on the Russian medical system through more than 500,000 wounded military, which causes problems with logistics and lack of medical professionals.

“This has a negative impact on assistance and probably delay the medical resources from the civilian population on the military, further increasing the large -scale impact on civilian hospitals,” the statement said.

The British Ministry of Defense estimates that the number of medical professionals serving Russian civilians will probably continue to decline in 2025.

Russia and Ukraine do not provide information about their losses in the war. Moscow officially called the number of killed in September 2022 – then declared 5937 dead.

On March 5, intelligence of the United Kingdom said that, since the beginning of 2025, Russia probably lost about 90,000 soldiers killed and wounded in the war against Ukraine.
