According to the bureau’s press service, NABU and SAP informed about the suspicion of members of an organized criminal group that operated in the Verkhovna Rada and ensured that deputies received illegal benefits for “required” voting.
NABU claims that in order to organize votes, group members sent instructions with the numbers of draft laws in a specially created WhatsApp messenger group, and after the votes, funds were systematically transferred to individual deputies.
The bureau adds that the suspects are five people’s deputies, all of whom have been served with petitions for preventive measures.
NABU does not specify their surnames. Earlier, the publication ZN.UA, with reference to its sources in the law enforcement agencies, reported that NABU announced suspicion against the fifth People’s Deputy – a member of the “Servant of the People” faction Mykhailo Laba.
According to the media, other representatives of “Servants of the People” – Yevhen Pyvovarov, Ihor Negulevskyi and Yuriy Kisiel – were previously suspected in this case. Suspicion was also being prepared for Yury Koryavchenkov (also known as Yuzik during his participation in “Quartal 95”), but he left Ukraine.
All three were informed of suspicion under the article on “acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official”. “UP” also mentions the possible suspicion of, among others, Olga Savchenko.
They did not publicly comment on the announcement of the suspicion. Yevhen Pyvovarov answered RFE/RL’s appeal that he would not comment on the suspicion, the investigation is ongoing.
