The body of a 39-year-old resident of the Kyiv region was pulled from the Tisza River not far from the Romanian shore.

Literally DPSU: “Probably, the man became a victim of the organizers of illegal crossings, who put their “clients” in mortal danger for the sake of money.”

Details: According to border guards, they received information about the drowning man from Romanian colleagues. The body was found in the Tisza River 5 meters from the Romanian shore between the settlements of Bedevlja (Ukraine) and Remeta (Romania).

Prehistory:

  • The State Security Service reported that since the beginning of martial law in Ukraine, about 50 deaths of men during illegal crossing of the state border have already been recorded.
  • In the evening of November 24, border guards rescued three men by pulling them out of the icy waters of the Tisza River; the men tried to enter Hungary illegally.
  • On December 6, the DPSU reported that two tragic cases were recorded in Romania: a Ukrainian died in the mountains who illegally crossed the border, another body of a Ukrainian citizen was found in the Tisza River.
