Details: Bessent made a corresponding statement shortly after Trump announced the introduction of a universal basic tariff at the level of 10% for numerous trading partners, as well as much higher additional taxes for some countries, including 34% for China and 20% for the European Union.
In his interview, the Minister noted that some countries have addressed the United States to start trade negotiations. Bessent noted that the Trump administration “will give a while to make everything” and then “see where everything goes.”
