Details: The call will be the first direct communication between Scholz and Putin in almost two years.

For the first time, the mass media reported on Sholtz’s willingness to negotiate with the head of the Kremlin in October.

At the time, it was reported that a phone call was being considered ahead of the G20 meeting in Brazil in November.

Later, Scholz himself spoke about his readiness to hold negotiations with the Russian leader “Nby ezabar“.

The Kremlin said that Putin is ready to talk to Scholz, but the Russian side did not receive offers from Berlin.

The last time Scholz spoke with Putin was at the end of 2022.

Thus, the Chancellor of Germany will become the first head of government from the countries that support Ukraine the most, who will resume direct contact with Putin.

The last telephone conversation between Scholz and Putin took place in December 2022.
