Details: According to journalists, Blinken said that the outgoing administration of President Joe Biden wants to ensure that “Ukraine has as strong a hand as possible to play.”
“Their position in Kursk is important because, of course, this is something that will be taken into account in any negotiations that may take place next year,” the US Secretary of State emphasized.
Blinken noted that even in the event of negotiations, Ukraine will still need “adequate security guarantees”, since the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, will not consider that “the game is over”.
“His imperial ambitions remain, and what he will try to do is to rest, re-equip and, eventually, attack again,” he emphasized.
Prehistory:
- On January 5, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that the Kursk region had become the hottest area on the front: as of that day, at 4:00 p.m., 42 battles had taken place there.
- Recently, it was written that the American side believes that Ukraine may lose the territories it currently holds in the Kursk region within a few months.
- American intelligence services believe that the deployment of North Korean troops in the Russian Federation was the idea of North Korea, not Russia.
- The Pentagon previously predicted an increase in casualties among North Korean troops who continue to participate in battles in the Kursk region.
