As far as we can see, Belgium still has legal questions to which it has not received a clear answer,” said the interlocutor of “EvroPravda”. He added that the negotiations will continue on October 23 at the meeting of the European Council. “Belgium demands clear commitments and guarantees from the EU states, and currently the arguments given by the European Commission are not enough for it,” another diplomat clarified. As “EvroPravda” wrote, the Eurocouncil, in its conclusions based on the results of the meeting on October 23, will announce the EU’s plans to provide Ukraine with financial and military aid in 2026-27, using for this purpose, including the cash balances of Russian frozen assets. As reported, Belgium has currently agreed not to block the EU’s idea of a “reparation loan” to Ukraine using frozen Russian assets, in connection with which the European Union will now be able to proceed to practical steps.
