“The purpose of training is to work out joint actions of Belarusian and Russian troops within the framework of ensuring the military safety of the Union State and readiness to repel possible aggression,” the statement reads.
Key aspects of training on which training is focused: improving the skills of command and headquarters in the management of troops during the reflection of aggression, increasing the level of interaction between management bodies and field training of military personnel, as well as working out joint actions to neutralize threats and stabilize the situation.
The West 2025 is a planned event that was preceded by a series of preparatory maneuvers in both countries.
Training in the territory of the Republic of Belarus is conducted at landfills located in the depths of the country or in its eastern regions. Nevertheless, NATO retains increased vigilance through these exercises.
That preceded:
- Poland has completely closed the border with Belarus from September 11 through military exercises “West”, and such a decision was made before the incident with the fall of Russian drones.
- The Latvia Seimas voted on Thursday for the complete closure of the country’s borders with Russia and Belarus during the Waval Military Exercises.
- In addition, Poland and Latvia restricted flights over part of their territory near the border with Belarus.
