He added that the disinformation campaign codenamed “Storm-1516” was aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country.
As part of it, false materials were distributed using numerous sites disguised as news resources. The information was most often directed against the CDU-CSU and the Greens.
Among the widely circulated fabrications is a video of a man who called himself a doctor and claimed that CDU leader Friedrich Merz, then an expected chancellor candidate, had undergone treatment for serious mental health problems three years ago. Fake documents were cited in the video to support this.
They also dispelled a fictional story about an alleged corruption scandal of 100 million euros with the participation of the co-leader of the “Greens”, at that time vice chancellor Robert Habek, and Ukrainian politicians.
A few days before the vote, they began dispelling the fiction of tampering with documents for voting by mail – in one of the districts of Leipzig, voters were allegedly sent ballots without “Alternative for Germany” on the list.

Military intelligence of Germany says about growing threat of espionage and sabotage.
We will remind, in Poland, after the sabotage on the railway, it was noticed Russian throwbacks in the information space, where they tried to shift the blame to Ukraine and promote “alternative versions”.
