Azerbaijan will allocate a million dollars for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

President of Azerbaijan Ilgs Aliyev signed an order for the allocation of a million dollars to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, on February 5 the site of the Head of State reported on February 5.

The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan will receive funds, which must buy electrical equipment and transfer it to Ukraine.

The President of Azerbaijan emphasizes that relations between Baku and Kiev are developing on the basis of friendship and partnership. “Due to the situation in Ukraine, the Azerbaijan state has repeatedly sent humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people,” the document reads.

In 2023, Azerbaijan, as a humanitarian aid, handed over $ 7.6 million to Ukraine.

After the start of a full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine, Aliyev said that Baku supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity: “We support Ukraine’s territorial integrity, like other countries and openly declare it, we do not hide behind a tree.”

In September 2024, Baku demanded that Russia protect the rights of the Azerbaijani citizens in connection with the detention of three Azerbaijanis in Chechnya – Nikhad Rzaev, Elhan Shirinova and Vugar Magerrama. Azerbaijan authorities claimed that their force was sent to the war against Ukraine.
