Details: According to Vasov, the check found that Cyberatak on February 20 against the Azerbaijani media was carried out by APT29 group, also known as Cozy Bear – it is associated with Russian military intelligence.

“APT29 activity, which is engaged in cyberbullet, is mainly directed against state structures, foreign diplomatic missions, as well as sectors of politics, defense, energy, media and other critical spheres,” the deputy listed.
According to him, the attackers have penetrated the network of Azerbaijani mediasystems in advance.
The deputy claims that the cause of the cyberattack was the decision of the Azerbaijan authorities on February 3, to close the Russian House in Baku due to the violation of the legislation, as well as the possible closure of the Azerbaijani branch of SPutnik’s Azerbaijani branch.
“It is because of these processes that this politically motivated cyber -shaping incident has occurred,” Vasov said.
