On Wednesday, February 5, Azerbaijan allocated a million dollars for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
The relevant decree was published on the website of President of Azerbaijan.
The document states that President Ilham Aliyev ordered the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan a million dollars from a reserve fund for the supply of electrical equipment to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
“Based on the principles of humanism, the Republic of Azerbaijan provides humanitarian assistance to many countries of the world on a bilateral and multilateral basis,” the document reads.
“The gas distribution system is paralyzed.” Aliyev stated that serious problems are waiting for Ukraine without Azerbaijan
Baku has already provided humanitarian aid to Kiev. In July 2023, Azerbaijan sent $ 7.6 million for similar purposes, and in 2022 the support exceeded $ 17.6 million.
In addition to financial assistance, Azerbaijan accepted Ukrainian children for medical and psychological rehabilitation.
Aliyev has repeatedly expressed the support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, calling the war “tragedy for both peoples. ” At the same time, Azerbaijan does not supply weapons to Ukraine.
