Details: On Friday, the Russian ambassador Mikhail Yevdokimov was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and expressed a protest in connection with the impact of one of the Iskander missiles (or its fragments), which were used to attack Kyiv, on the territory of the embassy, which happened around one in the morning.

The ambassador was informed that as a result of the explosion, a fragment of the outer wall around the embassy was completely demolished, the administrative building, the consular section, and official cars on the territory were also damaged. No one was killed or injured.
“It was recalled that such missile attacks, which contradict the norms and principles of international law, have occurred before. In particular, it was noted that on March 10, 2022, as a result of an airstrike on the building of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kharkiv, the administrative building was seriously damaged, and the official car became unusable,” the statement said.
They were also reminded of the consequences of the attack on Kyiv on January 2, 2024, when a three-meter-wide crater was formed right next to the embassy, and the missile itself went 8 meters underground due to the impact of the unexploded Russian Kinzhal aeroballistic missile.
On August 28 of this year, another hit occurred 50 meters from the territory of the embassy, its buildings and the ambassador’s residence were damaged.
The ambassador was also reminded of the attacks on the facilities of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR in Odesa region in August of this year, as a result of which they were damaged and the workers were injured.
“All these facts raise the question of the deliberate nature of the missile strikes,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized, noting that the coordinates of their diplomatic institutions in Ukraine were transferred to Moscow in April 2022, and the Russian side promised to take this into account.
“We emphasized that such attacks on our diplomatic missions are unacceptable and asked the Russian side to conduct a proper investigation on this issue and provide a detailed explanation,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan noted.
