Autumn Book Country on VDNG has gathered nearly 100,000 visitors

During September 25-28, the Fourth Book Country Book Festival was held in Kyiv. There were 452 events at the event, reported Up. Culture Organizers.

“Book Country. Fruit” gathered 93 098 guests. According to organizers statistics, the average age of visitors is 26 years. Most of the people of Kiev and residents of the region (82%), but also came from Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Nikolaev, Rivne and Dnipro. 73% of guests came to VDNH specifically for the festival, 51% of them visited events, and 94% purchased new books.

This season, the event received a “fruit” topic dedicated to the Ukrainian harvest. Symbolically, this harvest was celebrated by book publishers and their novelties. The event was attended by 90 publishers, 10 bookstores and 15 independent authors.

Within the Book Country, book bloggers have traditionally hosted, celebrating the most discussed book of the season. This time, two editions were won with an equal number of points – the Bunny Mona Avad (Georges Publishing House) and the house on the edge of the world “Michael Kanningham (Laboratory Publishing House”).

Among the events that visited the most – a discussion with the participation of the writer and blogger Katie’s Show. The autograph session with her became one of the most expected, and communication with readers and signatures of books lasted several hours.

The focus of the festival was the topics of black humor during the war, veteran art and new book formats. For the first time they created a separate area of ​​”illustration”, where guests presented an exhibition of works of Ukrainian artists.

Among the special guests: Vasya Baidak Standap Coom, Mound & Agregat, restaurateur Yevgeny Klopotenko, actor Arthur LOGAY, ASHUNMENT JUN BELENYUK, TV presenters Timur Miroshnichenko and Yevgeny Yanovich and others.

On average at the Book Country this season, guests spent UAH 1344 A group of 2-3 people, the organizers told.
