Details: As reported by the agency, the Ministry of Defense of Austria reported that negotiations with the Italian government on the conclusion of the contract are currently underway.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Neghammer said that this agreement shows the strength of cooperation between Italy and Austria.

“I express special thanks to Prime Minister George Maloney, who made a significant contribution to the conclusion of this agreement,” he said in a statement.

The planes will be used for pilot training, ground support and air defense, the government said.

It will be recalled that in June German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the purchase of 20 more Eurofighter fighters as part of the program to strengthen the country’s armed forces.

On December 24, Eurofighter Typhoon and the NATO agency NETMA signed a contract in Rome for the purchase of up to 24 Eurofighter aircraft for the Italian Air Force.
