Literally: “Ryan Rout’s trial will begin on September 8, instead of the previously scheduled date of February 10, 2025”.
Details: The publication notes that Rout, 58, a resident of Hawaii, pleaded not guilty.
Raut’s lawyers asked the judge to postpone the trial until next December, saying they needed more time to examine the evidence against him and decide whether he should be granted a criminal defense.
It also added that Raut’s defense attorneys were in possession of 17 cell phones and numerous other electronic devices, as well as hundreds of hours of police chest and surveillance camera footage, which were released to the defense during a hearing two weeks ago in Fort Pierce, Florida.
According to prosecutors, Routh planned the assassination attempt on Trump for weeks before carrying it out on September 15 while Trump was playing golf at his West Palm Beach country club.
Raut’s arrest comes two months after Trump was shot in the ear in an attack on him at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Raut faces up to life in prison for the attempted assassination of then-prime presidential candidate Trump.
We will remind: As you know, on September 15, Donald Trump’s campaign was informed of a shooting near his golf club in Florida.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation identified the suspect in the case of the alleged attempt on Trump’s life: he turned out to be 58-year-old Ryan Rout, who had eight arrests in the past and actively supported Ukraine.
After that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to refrain from looking for connections between Raut and Ukraine.
