For the second day in a row, the enemy is attacking critical infrastructure facilities in Zhytomyr Oblast. Thanks to the professional actions of the rescuers, the fire caused by enemy strikes was quickly contained… Energy workers are continuing repair work to restore electricity supply to the homes of the region’s residents and businesses,” wrote the head of Zhytomyr OVA Vitaly Bunechko on Facebook.
Around 6:00 a.m. on January 12, “Ukrzaliznytsia” informed about complications in the movement of electric trains.
“Due to the lack of tension, as well as the influence of hostilities, movement in Zhytomyr Oblast is complicated. Therefore, some suburban trains may depart with a delay of up to 1.5 hours,” the carrier said.
In the Chernihiv region, an “important energy facility” was damaged in the Novgorod-Siversky district, the company “Chernihivoblenergo” reported.
“A number of settlements have been cut off. As soon as the security situation allows, the energy workers will begin emergency restoration work,” the message reads.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
