The situation in the presidential complex of Chad is under control after reports of an attack by armed persons on the territory of the residence, the appearance of tanks on the streets of the capital N’Djamena and the blocking of roads.
France 24 writes about it.
Government spokesman Abderaman Kulamallah said in a video message posted on Facebook: “It was a small incident… everything is calm.” He added that “the destabilization attempt was destroyed.”

Earlier, sources in the security services reported that armed individuals entered the interior of the presidential residence.
At the scene, an AFP correspondent recorded the blocking of all roads to the presidential complex and the presence of tanks on the streets. In the city center, armed police patrolled several key points, while civilians hurriedly left the scene in cars and motorbikes.
The incident comes less than two weeks after a disputed general election, which Chad’s government has described as a key step towards ending military rule. The elections were marked by low turnout and accusations of fraud by the opposition.
In addition, the country faces numerous challenges, including attacks by the jihadist group Boko Haram in the Lake Chad region, the termination of a military agreement with France and accusations of intervention in the conflict in neighboring Sudan.
On Wednesday, hours before the incident, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Li held a meeting with President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno and other senior Chadian officials.
