A mass grave containing the remains of about 1,500 people, believed to have been killed by Bashar al-Assad’s regime, has been found in the village of Nakkarin, Aleppo province.

The mass grave was discovered by forces linked to the Aleppo police during ongoing checks across Syria after the regime was toppled.
It is believed that there are still many undiscovered mass graves in Syria.
Prehistory:
- 40 kilometers from the Syrian capital Damascus, human rights activists found a mass grave containing the bodies of at least 100,000 people who died during the rule of former President Assad.
