Almost every fifth Slovaks wishes Russia’s victory in the war against Ukraine – a survey

The IPSOS survey for Cedmo showed that more than 18% of Slovakia citizens support Russia’s victory in the war, while only a third of the respondents – on the side of Ukraine.

Details: According to the results of the poll, only a third of Slovakia residents express support for Ukraine in the desire to win the war.

Another 33% of respondents stand for the termination of hostilities by concluding a temporary peace, without achieving military success by either party.

More than 16% of those polled have admitted that they have no clear position or indifferently what the war would end.

Among the voters of the ruling SMER party, headed by Prime Minister Robert Fitzo, the idea of ​​victory of Ukraine has the lowest level of support – only 3%, while 43% of supporters of this political force stand for the victory of Russia.

Similar moods are observed among the supporters of the radical movement “Republic”, which was formed after the split of the “People’s Party, our Slovakia” Marian Kotlebi. Here, 44% of voters prefer the Victory of the Russian Federation, while Ukraine is supported by only 6%.

Among the supporters of the Coalition Slovak National Party is also dominated by a pro -Russian position: 31% for the victory of Russia and only 4% for Ukraine. Instead, voters of another coalition force – Voice Party show a more moderate position: 27% support Ukraine and 14% – Russia.

The maximum support of Ukraine is expressed by the voters of the opposition association “Progressive Slovakia” – 75%, and the Democrats Party, led by the Excessorian Defense Yaroslav Nadem – 63%.

At the same time, only 1% and 4% of the voters of these political forces, respectively, wish the Victory of the Russian Federation.

Among the supporters of the Christian-Democratic movement, Ukraine is supported by 53%, while Russia is 4%. Similar to the Freedom and Solidarity Party (SAS): 50% for Ukraine and 4% for the Russian Federation. In the case of the Slovak movement – 47% on the side of Ukraine.

The proportion of those who support Russia grows with age: among young people 16-24, only 7%are, in the age group 35-44 years – already 18%, in the category 55-64 years – 20%, and among respondents 65+ – as much as 26%.

• The House of Slovakia deputies rejected the project of the opposition resolution, which called on Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine and condemned Russian attacks on Kryvyi Rih and Sumy.
• Prime Minister Robert Fitzo also refused to directly condemn Russia’s attack on amounts, noting that he had “insufficient information”.
• Fitzo also rejected the call of the EU Diplomacy Head of Callas to European leaders not to visit Moscow on the occasion of the so -called Victory Parade on May 9.
