87% of Ukrainians surveyed believe that Russia does not want to stop in the occupied territories.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIn).
The survey showed that 66% of Ukrainians are convinced that the purpose of the Russian Federation is to destroy Ukraine and its citizens.
28% of recipients said that Russia wants to carry out a physical genocide of Ukrainians, and 38% – that the aggressor country seeks to capture all or most of Ukraine and destroy the Ukrainian statehood and the nation.
According to KIIS, 14% of Ukrainians believe that Russians want to occupy most of the territory and establish a puppet government. At the same time, 7% of respondents think that the Russian Federation wants to capture Donbas, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions.
4% of respondents believe that Russia only wants to preserve the occupied territories. And only 3% chose the option that the Russians want “to denoceize ”and to demilitarize Ukraine. Another 7% did not decide on the opinion.

The survey was conducted from February 14 to March 4, 2025. Telephone interviews have interviewed 1029 respondents aged 18 years. The sampling did not include residents of territories that are not temporarily controlled by the authorities of Ukraine, as well as polls did not conduct with citizens who went abroad after February 24, 2022.
The sample statistical error did not exceed 4.1% for indicators close to 50%, 3.5% for indicators close to 25%, 2.5% – for indicators close to 10%, 1.8% – for indicators close to 5%.
