Prehistory:
- On the morning of December 20, the Russians attacked Kyiv. A series of powerful explosions rang out in the city, the authorities reported that it was the work of air defense.
- It was reported that fragments of downed Russian rockets fell in 3 districts of Kyiv: fires raged and the heating main was damaged. One person died and another 10 were injured.
- The head of the KMVA, Serhiy Popko, said that the Russian military probably attacked the capital with “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles and Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles.
- Later, the Air Force reported that during the Russian combined attack on the night of December 20, air defense destroyed 5 ballistic missiles that were flying towards Kyiv and 40 enemy UAVs in 8 regions of Ukraine, another 20 drones did not reach their targets.
