Against the backdrop of a meeting in Paris for Ukraine, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has stated that it is already acting now to support Ukraine and to increase Europe’s security – “it is enough conversation – time to act.”

On his social network page, he listed the necessary steps in his opinion:

• Real security guarantees for Ukraine – NATO membership should remain on the negotiation table.
• Russia should be held accountable for war crimes, and sanctions should remain until the termination of aggression.
• Urgent arms financing and € 10 billion for the Ukrainian defense industry.
• The arrest of frozen assets of Russia and the introduction of tariffs for Russian/Belarussian imports.
• Accelerated Ukraine Introduction to the EU is the target date by 2030. Ukraine’s security is part of European security. Let’s act together.

On February 19, French President Emmanuel Macron organized a second meeting of European leaders in the war that Russia leads against Ukraine. It is expected that about 15 countries will take part in the meeting, which will begin within the next hour, most leaders will join the video, and from the Elisha Palace in Paris, Macron will communicate with them with the temporary President of Romania.

New consultations will take place two days after an emergency meeting on Ukraine, which has been joined by the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Denmark and the Netherlands, as well as high -ranking EU representatives and NATO Secretary General.

The participants of the first meeting announced that they would spend more on their own defense, and agreed that Ukraine should participate in decision making about its future – the statement was heard against the backdrop of negotiations between Russia and the US in Saudi Arabia.
