A steel plant exploded in China: there are dead, missing and dozens injured

On Sunday afternoon, January 18, a massive explosion occurred at a steel plant in northern China, killing at least two workers and injuring dozens of others.

Details: The accident happened at the Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Union plant in the Inner Mongolia region. The mass media published footage showing a huge column of smoke rising above the site of the plant.

According to China Central Television, in addition to the two dead, eight more workers are still missing. 84 people were sent to hospitals.

Local officials said that legal action has already been taken against those responsible. Search and rescue teams continue to work at the scene.
