The journalists were hit when they were driving to the positions together with the hero of their report, Oleksandr. The weather conditions that day were unfavorable for flights – wind, blizzard and poor visibility, but a Russian FPV drone was still waiting near the “shot” place near the turn, where drivers have to reduce speed.
The drone exploded next to the car, causing debris to damage the back of the car and shatter the glass. The hit was avoided because Oleksandr noticed the danger and hit the gas. No one was injured.
“The LSM team is aware of the risks it is exposed to when it goes to the defenders of Ukraine and captures the reality of the war, because it is this kind of presence that makes it possible to document the true face of war – no matter how dangerous and brutal it is. We highly appreciate the work and courage of our journalists, because independent journalism in this situation serves as an important counterbalance to false and manipulative reports,” commented LSM editor-in-chief Anita Browna.
We will remind you that in October 2025, during work near Druzhkivka in Donetsk region a French photojournalist was killed Anthony Lallikan.
Also, in October, it was damaged by the attack of the Russian “Lancet” in the Dnipropetrovsk region team of the German publication Welt.
