The Russian military unexpectedly dropped a 250-kilogram aerial bomb on a school building in the village of Bykivka, Belgorod Region. The residents of Bykivka told the local Telegram channel “Ashes” about this. According to them, the bomb fell on the school around six in the morning on November 19. No one was in the building yet, no one was injured. However, during the day there are face-to-face classes at this school.

The publication Astra reports that the bomb has penetrated the roof of the building and is now in one of the offices on the third floor. A crack formed in the wall of the building. The “Agency” publication could not get comments from the school administration, but, according to one of the teachers, they were ordered to conduct classes remotely without explaining the reasons.

Also, according to Astra, another FAB-250 aerial bomb fell on November 15, one and a half kilometers from the village of Bily Kolodyaz in the Shebekin city district. There were also no casualties.

According to Astra’s calculations, in 2024, the Russian army dropped at least 150 high-explosive aerial bombs on the territory of Russia and the occupied regions of Ukraine. Most often, the fall of FAB-250 and FAB-500 is recorded. Usually, in the case of off-duty dumping, these munitions do not detonate and are subsequently destroyed by explosives technicians. Such corrected aerial bombs are most often used by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for strikes on the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine.
